January has whizzed past as if it were late for movies! It feels just yesterday we were wishing Happy New Year and today we are less than two weeks away from Valentine’s Day. Where did the last 34 days go?
January had it’s fair share of wintry feeling in Mumbai too and we battled through cold and cough one family member at a time. What is life without a few endless days of tissues and hot kadha?
Little Miss’s school had a few celebrations in January. New Year, Makar Sankranti, Vasant Panchmi and Republic Day were all celebrated with the children.
Little Miss seems to have accepted that pictures will be clicked and she now does not run away when photos are being taken at school.

The teachers help children with art work related to the festivals and then they take photos of the kids posing with their art.
A lot of children smile happily and show off their work. Little Miss used to always turn away from the camera and someone had to hold her there. But last month, I have noticed that she has started staying where she is asked to stand.
So now she holds up her art work, looks in front so that pictures can be taken. She still looks at the camera and the person taking her pic like they are doing something wrong but at least she stays. This is a start.

When I was little, I am told that I used to start crying as soon as I saw a camera in anyone’s hands. So for the first few years, you’ll find me crying in all the photos. At least Little Miss is doing better than I did!
With February comes the season of love. The days leading upto Valentine’s Day have importance given to them but all I like is that it gives me rights to eat chocolates and buy flowers for myself.
The only chocolate Little Miss likes is Dairy Milk Silk Bubbly so I make sure to buy those and some other chocolates for me. I may share some with husband but that will depend on certain conditions and whether he is in office or at home when Little Miss and I decide to indulge.
