“Food for us comes from our relatives, whether they have wings or fins or roots. That is how we consider food. Food has a culture. It has a history. It has a story. It has relationships.”
– Winona LaDuke
Food is the building block of life. Since the time life appeared on earth, food has been the most basic requirement after air. The first humans were the foragers of food. They would move around in search of food.
As time progressed and humans developed, they began to taste varieties of food and pretty soon, once they had control of fire, cooking developed. With cooking came taste and as time has moved on, food has also seen a myriad of changes.
Every continent has its own agricultural produce and with that there are different food products. Every country has a unique cuisine which does justice to its agricultural products. The use of spices native to each country is what makes every cuisine special.
Our country has a wide variety of food and our eating and cooking styles change drastically from one part of the country to another. In certain parts of India you will find food that is heavy on spices, in other parts the use of chillies is intense. Then, in certain parts you will find that sugar is added to every dish.
I, for , consider myself a big foodie. You will rarely find a picture of me where I am not eating or at the very least holding a plate of food. I may not be a big connoisseur of food but I know a good dish when I taste one.
There are plenty of dishes that I love to eat and quite sincerely it is very difficult for me to pick one. I like chhole bhature, dosa, pav bhaji, idli sambhar, potato chops, pasta, pizza, and many other dishes but if I really had to pick one, I will pick ginger garlic hakka noodles. There is something so incredibly tasty in the gingery heat of these noodles that I simply love. Any day, any time I can have them.
There was a time when I wouldn’t order anything else. Always this dish and it made my day.
Something about good food makes me happy and ginger garlic hakka noodles with a bottle of Pepsi is all I need for a perfect meal.
