Sahar, Riley, and Jenna have been inseparable since middle school, the kind of friends who know each other's darkest corners. Or so they thought. Now Sahar is climbing the corporate ladder at one of the nation's top law firms, Jenna is opening her own therapy practice, and Riley is thriving in the nonprofit sector.

They're finally building the lives they always wanted. Until one of them vanishes. Days later, she's found dead.

The investigation into their friend's murder begins to unravel everything they thought they knew. Affairs. Betrayals. Lies buried deeper than any of them realized. The past they thought they'd outgrown isn't behind them. It's catching up. And it already cost one of them her life.

Will uncovering the truth save them or make them next? Some friendships survive the truth. Some truths destroy everything.

Rachel Ayoub’s Our Secrets to Keep as the name suggests is about how the secrets the friends keep from each other ends up in the death of one and the other two are left with the burden of their best friend’s murder and the fallout of all the secrets and lies.

The story moves back and forth in time and we get a glimpse of the three friends’ past lives and the present time where the investigation and the truths that come out slowly break the friends mentally.

Sahar is the daughter of a Lebanese woman and American man and has faced a lot of racism and bullying all through her school life. Her mother faces domestic violence at the hands of her alcoholic father and has died in a boating accident. Sahar becomes a lawyer because her mother wanted her to. She is estranged with her father.

Riley lost her father soon after the death of Sahar’s father. She runs her non profit organisation and is quite good at helping people.

Jenna was raised by her doctor father after the death of her mother. She is a psychiatrist who has opened her own clinic.

The story moves at a good pace and every character is given due justice. The characters are well written and the mystery is maintained until the end. With so many revelations about all three friends, every chapter is like a roller coaster ride. It is worth reading.
