My TBR (to be read) list is getting serious completion from my TBW (to be watched) list.

Every few months I buy a few books, add them to the huge pile on my bookshelf. I pick them up every few days for dusting and then put the back down nicely and properly. You’ll even find two books whose plastic cover is still intact and one of them was purchased more than 6 months back.

And then there is also a list of books I want to read, meticulously prepared on Goodreads and the notes app on my phone. It is a long long list and somehow I haven’t made even a slight dent on it over the last three years.

What can I do? My attention keeps diverting to some new book or any old book that is not in my list but I like it’s blurb.

The same thing is happening to my TBW list. This is a list made on my notes app of movies and shows I want to watch. Then there are watch lists on all the platforms that I use. It’s an extensive list which keeps growing like Devil’s Snare. I just hope it doesn’t strangle me.

The list includes recommendations from social media, friends and family, teasers and sometimes just because I like the name. I manage to take out 10-15 minutes for OTT platform which means even the smallest of movies is finished in 6 to 7 days.

I limit my screen time in front of Little Miss because how can I stop her watching the screen if I myself am glued to it? Sometimes, I take my phone to the kitchen and watch a light movie or show while cooking but nothing too interesting or I might add sugar in place of salt to my dish.

How are you doing with your lists? Anything interesting that I may add to mine?

I loved how you explored the “never-ending list” of books and the joy-and-overwhelm that comes with it. Felt so relatable

Every month something new ends up on the list.

hehe, yep.. the struggle is real for us bookworms

The list is indeed never ending. I have over 50 unread books on my shelf/Kindle, plus the ones I still need to buy. Sigh. I’m not watching TV these days; when I do, it’s nothing specific.

I wonder if we will ever get to the end of the list.

Gosh, Malvika, you just echoed my thoughts! I have a study filled with good intentions – books I always meant to read. As for my TBW list, that continues eluding me however much I try to pursue it. Enjoyed reading your post!

Thank you. TBW list needs two extra days every weekend 😉
