Some stories leave you with a happy feeling in the heart which lingers on for quite some time. Happily Ever and Never Afters by Vidya Sanath is a collection of such 16 beautiful stories.

The stories are like small slices of life, each one giving a glimpse of something special in the lives of the characters. Each story has a unique feel to it; be it prejudice, love, romance after retirement, mystery. All the stories provide a new facet of life.

The stories are interesting, very easy to read and once you start reading you will find yourself turning pages one after the other, reading the stories and feeling the words.

The writer has aptly called her book a potpourri of heartwarming tales because it is. Every story has something unique to offer. My favourite was The Jar of Happiness where a granddaughter helps her grandmother overcome her grief of losing her husband. The duo start a culinary vlog and the grandmother finds something to hold on to and move ahead in life.

“Darkness would always be driven away by light. And just as I had opened the curtain to invite the light in, I had two choices before me. Either I get used to the darkness or I let light in. I chose the latter.”

It is a book worth picking up.
